Project Specialist

Job Summary  
The Project Specialist supports various activities aimed at enhancing career services for students, including event management, internship program support, and stakeholder engagement. This role involves administrative tasks, communication, and collaboration with students, employers, and alumni to deliver high-quality career-related services.

Key Responsibilities  
    • Provide guidance to students regarding Career Connections services and refer them to appropriate Client offices as needed.  
    • Assist in planning and executing VCC events, including managing volunteers, coordinating with vendors, managing budgets, advertising events, preparing                  materials, and ensuring billing accuracy.  
    • Prepare and distribute communication materials for students and employers.  
    • Support full-time staff in managing the Student Career Ambassador Program and employer recruitment events.  
    • Manage ENGR internship courses for credit, including reviewing applications and grading assignments.  
    • Deliver exceptional customer service to students, employers, alumni, and staff.  
    • Perform other duties as assigned.  

Required Qualifications  
    • Bachelor’s degree.  
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database programs.  
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking.  
    • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.  
    • Multicultural competencies and ability to work with diverse populations.  
    • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.  
    • Sound judgment with the ability to escalate issues requiring higher-level consultation.  

Preferred Qualifications  
    • Flexibility to work evenings or weekends as required.  
    • Proven ability to maintain accurate and organized records and filing systems.  
    • Sensitivity, tact, and diplomacy in interpersonal interactions.
