Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our client’s skilled nursing Pediatrics practice. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to providing kind, competent, and high-quality care to pediatric patients and their families. This role focuses on triage, parent/patient communication, support for clinical procedures, and oversight of medical assistants. Key Responsibilities
- Provide triage and medical advice for incoming patient calls with professionalism and empathy
- Assist with clinical procedures, including injections requiring RN-level administration
- Supervise and verify medications administered by Medical Assistants (MAs)
- Prepare COVID-19 vaccines for children aged 6 months to 4 years
- Perform medication inventory checks and ensure proper documentation
- Utilize EPIC (preferred) or other EHR systems to document and access patient records
- Maintain strong communication with patients, parents, and healthcare team members
- Deliver excellent customer service while helping ease patient and family concerns
Required Qualifications
- Nursing degree or graduation from an approved RN program
- Active Registered Nurse license in the state of California
- Minimum 2 years of experience working as an advice nurse, preferably in pediatrics
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong customer service and organizational abilities
- Ability to build rapport and communicate effectively with parents and young patients
- Team-oriented and committed to high-quality, family-centered care
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with EPIC electronic health record system
Certifications
- Current and active RN license
