We are seeking a highly experienced Data Analyst to join our team, working on small to medium-sized IT projects. This is a hybrid/onsite role within the Data Services team as part of the IT and Business Intelligence Division. The selected individual will be responsible for organizing, processing, and reporting data related to different business units using a suite of data tools. The ideal candidate will have the technical expertise to work hands-on with databases to ensure data accuracy, quality, and to improve processes, making the data valuable for our various business units.
Key Responsibilities:
Use automated tools to extract data from primary and secondary sources.
Conduct quality audits on data sources and automated reports.
Remove corrupted data and fix coding errors in databases.
Develop and maintain databases and data systems, reorganizing data into readable formats.
Perform analysis to assess the quality and meaning of data.
Collaborate with subject matter experts to make changes to databases and improve data architecture efficiency.
Filter data by reviewing reports and performance indicators to identify and correct code problems.
Manage and improve existing reporting systems to provide business value.
Assist in solving issues related to data quality, data lineage, and master data management (MDMS).
Work with programmers, engineers, and management heads to identify process improvement opportunities and propose system modifications.
Collaborate with the data governance team.
Prepare and maintain dashboards for monitoring data quality and relevant business indicators.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent related experience.
5+ years of data analyst or related experience, with proficiency in analytical software, particularly with databases.
Strong business acumen and the ability to gather technical requirements from clients.
Proficiency with SQL and non-SQL database management tools, including MS SQL Server Management Studios, MySQL, SSIS, and SSRS.
Proficiency in statistics, data analysis, and research methods.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple efforts and progress them simultaneously.
Strong project management knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office suite: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Power BI.
Experience with transactional databases and accounting systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in using data analytics tools is a plus.
Background in Oil & Gas industry is considered a plus.
