• Maintain and oversee all general ledger activity, including monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
• Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements and grant reports for internal and external stakeholders
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and nonprofit accounting standards (FASB, 2 CFR 200, etc.)
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, payroll allocations, and expense reimbursements
• Monitor grant expenditures and assist in preparing reports for funders
• Assist in annual audit and 990 preparation by providing requested documentation and working directly with external auditors
• Support the annual budgeting and forecasting process and monitor budget-to-actual performance
• Reconcile bank and investment accounts monthly
• Maintain proper documentation and ensure adherence to internal controls
• Provide financial insights and support to program managers and leadership
• Supervise or mentor junior accounting staff as applicable

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or MBA preferred)
• Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in the nonprofit sector
• Strong knowledge of fund accounting, restricted/unrestricted funds, and grant management
• Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, Blackbaud) and Excel
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a mission-driven environment

Certification: Certified Public Accountant , Certified Treasury Professional
